A Look Inside of an English Saddle

Have you ever seen the inside of an English Saddle? Do you know how saddles get flocked? Do you worry about broken or cracked trees? Come learn the answers to your english saddle questions with Saddle Fitter Patina Sidner as she opens up an english saddle and lets us look inside. You will learn about the inner workings of an english saddle, what to look for, and how they are repaired.

English Saddle Workshop – Nov 2nd

Location – White Dog farm in Athens. Open to the public with RSVP.

Workshop to include:

*How to determine the health of a used saddle
*Symmetry check
*Checking the tree and removing panels
*Discussion of panel construction and samples of materials used

Fee: $25/person. Discounts for members of 4-H, FFA, and Pony Club. Dinner included, please bring your own beverage.

Patina was trained by the UK’s Society of Master Saddle Fitters in saddle bench flocking and repairs as well as advanced Saddle Fitting. She is looking forward to continuing her education this fall/winter attending Saddle and Bridle Making in Scotland.
